Office Update - Important Please read!
Currently the office is endangered of closing tentatively due to the current financial situation. We understand that the U.S. is now in an economic recession, and that many have already lost jobs. The times and struggles each person is now enduring us horrid, however we must find a way to pull together and all unite to prove that our people are a strong people and can endure tough times as our ancestors did.
We have initiated a new database software into the office to help us with this improvement, however it will take a little time for the transition to take effect. Many employees of the office are just now getting accustomed to this software, and in recent test results from when the office introduced the software a week ago to today, it has had a positive end return in workflow. We believe that now the foundation of the Western Cherokee Nation office work has changed and will improve, but it will take some time. With the new workflow set, the office is currently finishing all eligible enrollment from 2008, and will begin with January 2009 eligible applications in approximately 2 weeks at most.
I understand that a lot of trust has been broken over the years, and I vow to do my absolute best to regain that trust. Also, apparently, there are many rumors circulating as to the status of the office and the reinstatement process. I recently became aware of a rumor that I will be quitting in July, in response to that I do not plan on quitting any day soon. I made a promise that I would continue the work that has to be done to see to it that the Western Cherokee Nation of Arkansas & Missouri becomes reinstated. As the new President of the 501c3 for the Western Cherokee Nation it is my duty to do my job to the very best of my abilities, however, I can not do this alone. I need your help in keeping this dream alive and one day making this dream a reality.
Currently the office has enough funds to last for 2 weeks fully functional. Please send in your donations or dues as soon as possible to help us financially. All donations are tax deductible. Please we need your help, the future of the WCN depends on you.

Federal Reinstatement Update
June 26, 2009: I recently received a phone call from the BIA regarding an inquiry I placed yesterday. I was notified that it is accurate that we are now receiving our second technical review. While the process is a long and drawn out process we will need to keep the office open as long as possible to do all of the work necessary to keep fighting for the reinstatement we deserve. It is a lengthy process, and unfortunately our office can not continue if we do not have the funds to keep the office open and continuing the work that needs to be done. So please calling all members of the Western Cherokee Nation of Arkansas & Missouri, if you wish for us to continue doing the work that needs to be done please make a donation today.
