This is False, Chief Lola Smith
Scholl is still the Principal Chief of the Western Cherokee Nation
of Arkansas & Missouri and she is working hard at helping the
members and newcomers to the Western Cherokee Nation of Arkansas &
Missouri. The Western Cherokee Nation of Arkansas & Missouri was
incorporated in 1998 with members dating as far back as the 1700's -
1800's. It was a Tribe and then the Tribe was incorporated in 1998
for it's tax benefits.
Please contact the
office regarding Council person information.
Call us at (870) 239-5174 and speak
to a member of the staff about what you can do to help. Or feel
free to email us.
No that is not true. The Western
Cherokee Nation of Arkansas & Missouri has not changed. There is a
group out called the "Western Cherokee" that claim to be us, this is
not true. The "Western Cherokee" have no affiliation with the
Western Cherokee Nation of Arkansas & Missouri in any shape, form or
fashion.
Again as stated in the previous
question, the "Western Cherokee" do not have any affiliation with
the Western Cherokee Nation of Arkansas & Missouri. They were
involved a recent court hearing regarding the Nation and it's
records. However, the true victor was the Western Cherokee Nation
of Arkansas & Missouri, whose official Tribal Headquarters are
located at 200 North Rockingchair Road, Paragould, AR 72450. To
read the court documents please click here. The Western Cherokee
Nation of Arkansas and Missouri is in no way affiliated with Jerry
Summers and John Watson's group calling themselves "Western
Cherokee". Again see the Court Order Documents link above for more
insight.
